Traveling really does give me way too much time to think! & one thing I’ve been reflecting on a lot is how much it makes me zoom out.

At home, I get so caught up in the little things, like what I need to buy, what I need to get done, what I want to change, what I think I should be doing. And then I travel somewhere new and suddenly NONE of it feels quite as important.

This trip has reminded me that I don’t actually *want* more of the things I convince myself I need.

Instead, I want more memories. More experiences. More slow mornings and long dinners. More laughing with the people I love. More places to see and stories to tell!

Maybe that’s why I find myself craving a simpler life more and more as I get older.

I don’t want to spend my life collecting things when I could be collecting memories!! 💌

Apparently I’m becoming a yapper on here, and this trip has given me way too much time to think and share all my little thoughts, so I’m sure this won’t be the last! But I am very thankful for some time to slow down even more so, make memories, and reflect on what’s most important.

Maybe the most important things you do today are the things that aren’t on your to-do list 📋

It’s so easy to get caught up in worrying about money, whether you’re “on track,” if you’re going to reach your goals, or if you’re ever going to become your version of successful enough.

I know I can get caught up in it too 😵‍💫

But days like this remind me to zoom out!

My husband and I live in a converted bus, and we’re working toward some pretty big dreams for our future. But this week and last, we’ve gotten to step outside of our normal routine and spend our days visiting New York and now Washington DC with people we love.

We walked—a LOT. We saw places we had only ever seen in pictures. We laughed. We made memories!!

And it reminded me that this is life, too 🤎

God didn’t put us on this earth just to work, make money, accomplish goals, and constantly chase the next thing—He put us here to also enjoy His creation & many blessings!! That brings glory and praise to His name just like anything else. Isn’t that so cool?! He wants us to enjoy His blessings.

There is so much beauty in seeing His creation, experiencing new places, spending time with the people He’s given us, and simply being present for the life He has blessed us with.

I still want to work hard. I still have big dreams. I still want to be successful, but I don’t want to become so stressed about building my future that I forget to actually live my present.

Because one day, I don’t think I’ll wish I had crossed more things off my to-do list. Instead I’ll be thrilled I checked more things off my bucket-list instead 🌎

I’ll be grateful for the places I saw, the people I got to love, and the memories I made along the way.

🎟️ There’s something about traveling somewhere new that always makes me stop and reflect.

Seeing new places reminds me just how big the world is—and how small my own life is in comparison to eternity. There are so many people, so many places, so much of God’s creation, and yet He knows me by name. He calls me His. I have direct access to the Creator of it all. And honestly, that blows my mind!!

Traveling also gives me space to see just how faithful He’s been. Through every struggle, opportunity, new chapter, and open door, He’s been there. He provides when I don’t know how things will work out. He gives me peace when my mind is consumed with worry, joy when I feel like I have none, and the security of knowing I am His forever.

Sometimes getting out of my normal routine makes me realize just how distracted I’ve become. It reminds me to slow down, look around, and actually pay attention to the life He’s given me.

There’s so much more traveling reminds me of than I could ever fit into a journal entry. You grow when you’re uncomfortable. You grow when you try new things, see new places, and give yourself space to think.

Maybe all you need is a little train ticket to somewhere new, some old worship music in your headphones, and a pen and paper to write down what the Lord has been doing in your life while His creation passes by your window.

Quite the change of scenery for us country loving westerners! I miss the quiet countryside and the slowness of bus life, but there’s truly nothing like visiting the big city and making some unforgettable memories with the ones you love most. My bucket list got quite a bit smaller the last few days! I’m actually in unbelief how much can be seen in NYC in just a few days.

I think a lot of young women secretly want this life—but are afraid it isn’t enough 🤎

We think about future careers, homes, money, travel, babies, and all the things we hope for someday. And sometimes, if our goals don’t seem big, impressive, “on time” or money-making enough, we can start to feel behind.

But honestly?

Give me a little bus to take care of, a fridge full of ingredients to turn into dinner, a cozy home, and a hardworking, godly man walking through my door every evening—and I would choose that life every single time. Sometimes I have to stop & remind myself that I’m already living in countless answered prayers 🙌🏼

I actually think caring for your husband, building a home you love, and finding joy in ordinary moments is an incredibly underrated goal.

The world often tells us that success has to be loud, impressive, and seen by everyone. But sometimes success looks like a homemade meal, a clean kitchen, a peaceful home, and people who know they are deeply loved by you.

If building a home, loving your family well, cooking dinner, and creating a beautiful life from ordinary moments is something you genuinely want, that is not a small dream!!

That’s an elite one ;)
